Kill Statistics
Latest Version: Kill Statistics 0.6 revision b, updated June 16th, 2004.

(Revision b uploaded 16th June, 19:45 BST)
*: Two texts that could appear immediately after a character kill lined have been filtered: "In this location we came across..." and "During our journey...". Any other texts that get imported as a monster name, please let me know them so I can add them to the filter list.

(Version 0.6 uploaded 16th June, 18:30 BST)
* NOTE: Version info added to save files for future updates to file formats. Also, any data files saved in older versions are no longer compatible - you must create and save new data files from scratch from any past versions. Sorry for any inconvenience.
* Added support for many "plural name types" - "Monks of Baldor" = "Monk of Baldor", "Beastmen Archers" = "Beastman Archer", "Harpies" = "Harpy", "Kreshes" = "Kresh" etc. Hopefully, all plural forms should now be covered.
* More stability for turns where an item is discovered immediately after a fight, or the line of text that appears after a fight following a failed journey purchase ("It looks like we'll have to make our own way there").
* The system for recognising if a turn has already been processed or not has been completely overhauled, in light of the fact multiple turns can have the same turn number, due to "between turn events" and "hands free turns". Turns are now stored based on their precise file length combined with an MD5 Hash of the file. This does mean that should you modify the contents of a turn - eg remove an account number from it etc. - that turn will then be considered a "different turn" from the original, and may be re-imported. Renaming your turns will not affect this, nor will simply "copying" a turn and deleting the original. You would have to physically alter the file contents before it got re-imported!

Download Download [176 KB] zipped main executable & graphics folder here: Can be used as fresh install by simply unzipping to a folder wherever you wish and running, or to update older versions by overwriting files. Does not need any fancy installation or uninstallation. It is also perfectly safe to put the main executable in the same folder as your "Kharnographer" is, to keep all of your Quest utilities neatly in one place!

Download Download [1.6 MB] zipped VB6 system files install package: Need to install this on some Windows platforms to run the Kill Statistics program successfully. Only download & install if the above Kill Statistics application fails to run successfully.

About
Kill Statistics is a simple application used for processing (all in one batch if required) the newer Quest turns which list hit counts/ kill counts at the bottom of a battle report. This application will add up each characters kills against each race/sub-race, for example it might record 24 kills on Giantlings for a character, 3 on a Titan etc. It will only input turns for a specified game # and group #, so no fear if you keep turns for multiple games/groups in the same folder. It "remembers" which turn #'s it has counted kills from, so there is no risk of importing from the same turn # twice (thus doubling kills for that turn). You can save data files out (to keep a seperate file for each of your groups), load in other data files. You can click any character in the list to see that characters individual kill statistics. You can quickly copy everything neatly formatted in to the clipboard with the "Copy to Clipboard" function, to paste the list elsewhere.
